Hiking Mount Royal

Come with me on an Adventure…

On the walk to the base of Mount Royal, you feel the warm sun on your skin and eagerly anticipate a brief hike through the dense forest canopy. This is your first time in Montreal, and you're excited to discover what awaits you at the top of the mountain. Perhaps it's a great view, but you wonder how different it could be from other mountain views.

Suddenly, a drop of water hits your arm, and you stop in your tracks. "Rain?" Then another drop... and another..... the rain begins to pour, and you seek shelter under a large tree with other hikers. While you don't mind the rain, you neglected to bring any rain gear, and now you're completely soaked. After the rain stops, do you retreat to your AirBnB for a nice change of clothes? No, of course not! You're determined to reach the summit and claim your prize. Besides, there might be a toilet up there, and that rain really got to you... Or it could be the liter of coffee you had on the train up from Ottawa.

So you press on...

You spot a set of stairs that zigzag through the trees, leading to the top. Although you dislike stairs, you're almost there. Just a little farther now...

You reach the top of the stairs and exit the tree line where your partner is waiting after seemingly flying up the stairs with effortless motion, leaving you to your fate, not even halfway up the staircase.

You catch your breath and walk over to the observation deck... and the view surpasses all expectations.

You even forget you needed a toilet...
